On April 15, 2018 Cristofer Rosales fought Daigo Higa in a flyweight world-title fight for the WBC title. Rosales was 23 years old and with a record of 27-3 (18), and Higa was 22 years old and with a record of 15-0 (15). Rosales stopped Daigo Higa via 9th-round TKO and is crowned the new flyweight world champion.
