Bobby Chacon (Schoolboy) was an American professional boxer. He was a two-weightclass world champion with 2 world-title wins. In a career spanning 16 years, 1 month, and 26 days, Chacon amassed a record of 59-7-1, which includes 47 wins via KO, 2 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2005.
Bobby Chacon was born in Pacoima, California, U.S. on November 28, 1951. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on April 7, 1972 against Jose Antonio Rosa. Chacon defeated Rosa via 5th round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Chacon became a world champion at the age of 22 after 25 professional fights. He challenged Alfredo Marcano for the vacant WBC featherweight title and stopped Marcano in the 9th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the super-featherweight (WBC) titles also to become a two-division world champion.
Chacon's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Bobby Jones at age 36, on June 2, 1988.
