Oscar Albarado (Shotgun) was an American professional boxer. He was a super-welterweight world champion with 2 world-title wins. In a career spanning 16 years and 18 days, Albarado amassed a record of 57-13-1, which includes 44 wins via KO, 2 of which were in world-title fights.
Oscar Albarado was born in Pecos, Texas, U.S. on September 15, 1948. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 years on April 12, 1966 against Genaro Morones. Albarado defeated Morones via 4th round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Albarado became a world champion fight at the age of 25 after 55 professional fights. He challenged Koichi Wajima for the WBA and WBC super-welterweight titles and stopped the champion in the final round of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles. With this win, he also became the undisputed super-welterweight world champion — in his very first world-title fight.
He then went on to successfully win the The Ring super-welterweight world title as well — and undisputed at super-welterweight.
Albarado's last fight was a 2nd-round TKO loss to Ayub Kalule at age 33, on April 30, 1982.
