Boxing Career
Yuh Myung-woo was born in Seoul, South Korea on January 10, 1964. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on March 28, 1982 against Byung-Boum Choi. Myung-woo defeated Choi via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Myung-woo became a world champion at the age of 21 after 18 professional fights. He challenged Joey Olivo for the WBA light-flyweight title and defeated the champion via 15-round split decision, winning his first world title.
Myung-woo's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Yuichi Hosono at age 29, on July 25, 1993, in which he successfully defended his WBA light-flyweight championship.
