Kosei Tanaka

Kosei Tanaka was born in Tajimi, Gifu, Japan on June 15, 1995. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on November 10, 2013 against Oscar Raknafa. Tanaka defeated Raknafa via 6-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Tanaka became a world champion at the age of 19 after 4 professional fights. He challenged Julian Yedras for the vacant WBO strawweight title and defeated Yedras via 12-round unanimous decision, winning his first world title.

He then went on to successfully conquer the light-flyweight (WBO), flyweight (WBO), and super-flyweight (WBO) divisions as well to become a four-division world champion.

Tanaka's latest fight was a unanimous decision victory over Christian Bacasegua Rangel at age 28, on February 24, 2024, in which he won the vacant WBO super-flyweight world title.

Kosei Tanaka Next Fight: He is next scheduled to fight Phumelele Cafu (10-0-3, 8 KOs) on October 14, 2024. He will be defending his WBO super-flyweight title. On the day of the fight, he will be 29 years old, and Cafu 20.
