Takuma Inoue was born in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan on December 26, 1995. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 years on December 6, 2013 against Tatsuya Fukuhara. Inoue defeated Fukuhara via 6-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Inoue got his first shot at a world title at the age of 23 after 13 professional fights. On November 7, 2019 Inoue challenged Nordine Oubaali's WBC bantamweight title but lost via 12-round unanimous decision.
He became a world champion on April 8, 2023 at the age of 27 years, after by defeating Liborio Solís, the then-reining WBA bantamweight champion, via 12-round unanimous decision. This was his 19th fight as a professional.
