      Boxing career

      Bobby Chacon (Schoolboy) was an American professional boxer. He was born in Pacoima, California, U.S. on November 28, 1951. He was a two-weight-class world champion. He died on September 7, 2016 at the age of 64 years. Chacon was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2005. His professional boxing career spanned more than 16 years — from 1972 to 1988.

      Chacon made his professional boxing debut against Jose Antonio Rosa at the age of 20 on April 7, 1972, defeating Rosa via 5th round KO. He went on to win 18 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 16 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 22 on September 7, 1974 after 25 professional fights, against Alfredo Marcano for the featherweight WBC (vacant) title. He defeated Marcano via 9th round TKO to become the featherweight champion of the world.
