      Orlando Canizales is a 58-year old retired American professional boxer. He was born in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, U.S. on November 25, 1965. He is a former bantamweight world champion. Canizales was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2009. His professional boxing career spanned more than 15 years — from 1984 to 1999.

      Canizales made his professional boxing debut against Juan Perez at the age of 18 on August 25, 1984, defeating Perez via 2nd round TKO.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 22 on July 9, 1988 after 21 professional fights, against Kelvin Seabrooks for the bantamweight IBF title. He defeated Seabrooks via 15th round TKO to become the bantamweight champion of the world.
