      Joseph Agbeko (King Kong) is a 44-year old retired Ghanaian professional boxer. He was born in Accra, Ghana on March 22, 1980. He is a former bantamweight world champion. His professional boxing career spanned more than 22 years — from 1998 to 2020.

      Agbeko made his professional boxing debut against Agaitor Yao at the age of 18 on December 16, 1998, defeating Yao via 1st round KO. He went on to win 20 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 18 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 27 on September 29, 2007 after 25 professional fights, against Luis Alberto Pérez for the bantamweight IBF title. He defeated Pérez via 7th round RTD to become the bantamweight champion of the world.
