On October 7, 2023 Yudai Shigeoka fought Panya Pradabsri in a strawweight world-title fight for Pradabsri's WBC title. Shigeoka was 26 years old and with a record of 8-0 (5), and Pradabsri was 32 years old and with a record of 40-1 (24). Shigeoka won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new strawweight world champion.
