Hernández was 27 years old and with a record of 26-1 (13), and Cunningham was 35 years old and with a record of 24-3 (12). Hernández won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and and is crowned the unified IBF and The Ring champion.
On August 16, 2014 Yoan Pablo Hernández met Firat Arslan in a cruiserweight (IBF and The Ring) world-title defense fight. Hernández was 29 years old and with a record of 29-1 (14), and Arslan was 43 years old and with a record of 34-7-2 (21). Hernández won the fight via 12-round split decision and successfully defended his titles.
