On February 7, 2004 Sharmba Mitchell fought Lovemore N'dou in a super-lightweight world-title fight for the IBF title. Mitchell was 33 years old and with a record of 53-3 (29), and N'dou was 32 years old and with a record of 36-5-1 (22). Mitchell won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new super-lightweight world champion.
