On June 7, 2008 Sergio Mora fought Vernon Forrest in a super-welterweight world-title fight for Forrest's WBC title. Mora was 27 years old and with a record of 21-0-1 (5), and Forrest was 37 years old and with a record of 40-2 (29). Mora won the fight via 12-round majority decision and is crowned the new super-welterweight world champion.
On June 28, 2013 Sergio Mora faced off against Grzegorz Proksa in a middleweight bout at age 32. He was coming in with a record of 24-3-2 (7), and Proksa was 28 years old and with a record of 29-2 (21). Mora won the fight via 10-round unanimous decision.
