On November 13, 1999 Paul Ingle fought Manuel Medina in a featherweight world-title fight for Medina's IBF title. Ingle was 27 years old and with a record of 22-1 (15), and Medina was 28 years old and with a record of 56-10 (26). Ingle won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new featherweight world champion.
On April 29, 2000 Paul Ingle met Junior Jones in a featherweight (IBF) world-title defense fight. Ingle was 27 years old and with a record of 23-1 (16), and Jones was 29 years old and with a record of 47-4 (28). Ingle stopped Junior Jones via 11th-round TKO and successfully defended his title.
