On July 21, 2018 Murat Gassiev, the WBA (Unified) and IBF champion, met Oleksandr Usyk, the WBC, WBO and The Ring champion, in a cruiserweight world-title unification fight. Gassiev was 24 years old and with a record of 26-1 (19), and Usyk was 31 years old and with a record of 14-0 (11). Gassiev lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and lost his titles.
