Hooker was 28 years old and with a record of 24-0-3 (16), and Flanagan was 28 years old and with a record of 33-0 (13). Hooker won the fight via 12-round split decision and is crowned the new super-lightweight world champion.
On November 16, 2018 Maurice Hooker met Alex Saucedo in a super-lightweight (WBO) world-title defense fight. Hooker was 29 years old and with a record of 25-0-3 (17), and Saucedo was 24 years old and with a record of 28-0 (18). Hooker stopped Alex Saucedo via 7th-round TKO and successfully defended his title.
