On May 19, 2000 Malcolm Tuñacao fought Medgoen Singsurat in a flyweight world-title fight for Singsurat's WBC title. Tuñacao was 22 years old and with a record of 11-0 (7), and Singsurat was 21 years old and with a record of 20-0 (12). Tuñacao stopped Medgoen Singsurat via 7th-round TKO and is crowned the new flyweight world champion.
