On August 18, 1985 Lupe Pintor fought Juan Meza in a super-bantamweight world-title fight for Meza's WBC title. Pintor was 30 years old and with a record of 54-7-2 (41), and Meza was 29 years old and with a record of 43-5 (35). Pintor won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new super-bantamweight world champion.
On June 3, 1979 Lupe Pintor fought Carlos Zárate Serna in a bantamweight world-title fight for Serna's WBC title. Pintor was 24 years old and with a record of 39-4 (32), and Serna was 28 years old and with a record of 54-1 (53). Pintor won the fight via 15-round split decision and is crowned the new bantamweight world champion.
