On December 7, 2024 Liam Paro met Richardson Hitchins in a super-lightweight (IBF) world-title defense fight. Paro was 28 years old and with a record of 25-1 (15), and Hitchins was 27 years old and with a record of 18-0 (7). Paro lost the fight via 12-round split decision and lost the title.
