1. 9. John Ruiz loses to David Haye via KO

   On April 3, 2010 John Ruiz fought David Haye in a heavyweight world-title fight for Haye's WBA title. Ruiz was 38 years old and with a record of 44-9-1 (30), and Haye was 29 years old and with a record of 23-1 (21). Ruiz lost the fight via 9th-round TKO.

2. 8. John Ruiz loses to Nikolai Valuev via unanimous decision

   On August 30, 2008 John Ruiz fought Nikolai Valuev in a heavyweight world-title fight for the WBA title. Ruiz was 36 years old and with a record of 43-8-1 (29), and Valuev was 35 years old and with a record of 48-1 (34). Ruiz lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision.
