Hurd was 27 years old and with a record of 22-0 (15), and Lara was 34 years old and with a record of 25-2-2 (14). Hurd won the fight via 12-round split decision and and is crowned the unified IBF and WBA (Super) champion.
On October 14, 2017 Jarrett Hurd met Austin Trout in a super-welterweight (IBF) world-title defense fight. Hurd was 27 years old and with a record of 21-0 (15), and Trout was 32 years old and with a record of 30-3 (17). Hurd stopped Austin Trout via 10th-round retirement and successfully defended his title.
