On June 13, 1935 James J. Braddock fought Max Baer in a heavyweight world-title fight for Baer's The Ring title. Braddock was 30 years old and with a record of 51-25-7 (27), and Baer was 26 years old and with a record of 40-7 (30). Braddock won the fight via 15-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new heavyweight world champion.
