On August 3, 2024 Israil Madrimov, the WBA champion, met Terence Crawford, the WBO champion, in a super-welterweight world-title unification fight. Madrimov was 29 years old and with a record of 10-1-1 (7), and Crawford was 36 years old and with a record of 40-0 (31). Madrimov lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and lost his title.
