Haugen was 30 years old and with a record of 28-3 (13), and Camacho was 28 years old and with a record of 38-0 (16). Haugen won the fight via 12-round split decision and is crowned the new super-lightweight world champion.
On February 6, 1988 Greg Haugen fought Vinny Pazienza in a lightweight world-title fight for Pazienza's IBF title. Haugen was 27 years old and with a record of 21-1 (10), and Pazienza was 25 years old and with a record of 23-1 (18). Haugen won the fight via 15-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new lightweight world champion.
