Sturm was 28 years old and with a record of 27-2 (12), and Castillejo was 39 years old and with a record of 61-6 (42). Sturm won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new middleweight world champion.
On November 1, 2008 Felix Sturm met Sebastian Sylvester in a middleweight (WBA) world-title defense fight. Sturm was 29 years old and with a record of 31-2-1 (13), and Sylvester was 28 years old and with a record of 29-2 (14). Sturm won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
