On August 1, 2015 Edith Soledad Matthysse, the WBA champion, met Jelena Mrdjenovich, the WBC champion, in a featherweight world-title unification fight. Matthysse was 34 years old and with a record of 13-7-1 (1), and Mrdjenovich was 33 years old and with a record of 35-9-1 (19). Matthysse won the fight via 10-round unanimous decision and and is crowned the unified WBA and WBC champion.
On April 15, 2011 Edith Soledad Matthysse faced off against Daniela Romina Bermúdez at age 30. She was coming in with a record of 7-1-1 (1), and Bermúdez was 21 years old and with a record of 4-0-2 (1). Matthysse won the fight via 10-round unanimous decision.
