On June 29, 2019 Demetrius Andrade met Maciej Sulęcki in a middleweight (WBO) world-title defense fight. Andrade was 31 years old and with a record of 28-0 (17), and Sulęcki was 30 years old and with a record of 28-1 (11). Andrade won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
