Roman was 28 years old and with a record of 25-2-1 (9), and Flores was 31 years old and with a record of 25-0 (17). Roman won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
On April 26, 2019 Daniel Roman, the WBA (Unified) champion, met T. J. Doheny, the IBF champion, in a super-bantamweight world-title unification fight. Roman was 28 years old and with a record of 27-2-1 (10), and Doheny was 32 years old and with a record of 21-0 (15). Roman won the fight via 12-round majority decision and and is crowned the unified WBA (Unified) and IBF champion.
