On December 9, 2017 Caleb Truax fought James DeGale in a super-middleweight world-title fight for DeGale's IBF title. Truax was 34 years old and with a record of 29-3-2 (18), and DeGale was 31 years old and with a record of 23-1-1 (14). Truax won the fight via 12-round majority decision and is crowned the new super-middleweight world champion.
