On June 24, 1927 Bud Taylor faced off against Tony Canzoneri in a bantamweight bout at age 23. He was coming in with a record of 92-16-13 (28), and Canzoneri was 18 years old and with a record of 36-1-6 (11). Taylor won the fight via 10-round unanimous decision.
