      Donald Curry (Lone Star Cobra) is a 62-year old retired American professional boxer. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S. on September 7, 1961. He is a former two-weight-class world champion. Curry was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2019. His professional boxing career spanned more than 16 years — from 1980 to 1997.

      Curry made his professional boxing debut against Mario Tineo at the age of 19 on December 26, 1980, defeating Tineo via 1st round TKO. He went on to win 24 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 18 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 21 on February 13, 1983 after 15 professional fights, against Jun-Suk Hwang for the welterweight WBA (vacant) title. He defeated Hwang via 15 round unanimous decision to become the welterweight champion of the world.
