Corrie Sanders (The Sniper) was a South African professional boxer. He was born in Brits, North West, South Africa on January 7, 1966. He was a heavyweight world champion. Sanders died on September 23, 2012 at the age of 46 years. His professional boxing career spanned more than 18 years — from 1989 to 2008.
Sanders made his professional boxing debut against King Kong Dyubele at the age of 23 on April 2, 1989, defeating Dyubele via 1st round TKO. He went on to win 22 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 15 wins via stoppage.
He had his first world title fight at the age of 37 on March 8, 2003 after 40 professional fights, against Wladimir Klitschko for the heavyweight WBO title. He defeated Klitschko via 2nd round TKO to become the heavyweight champion of the world.
