Yoko Gushiken (Fierce Eagle) is a 69-year-old retired Japanese professional boxer. He is a former light-flyweight world champion. In a career spanning 6 years, 4 months, and 14 days, Gushiken amassed an undefeated record of 23-0, which includes 15 wins via KO—9 in world-title bouts. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2015.
Yoko Gushiken was born in Ishigaki, Okinawa, Japan on June 26, 1955. He made his professional debut at the age of 18 years on May 28, 1974 against Koichi Maki. Gushiken defeated Maki via 4 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Gushiken became a world champion at the age of 21 after 8 professional fights. He challenged Juan Antonio Guzmán for the WBA light-flyweight title and stopped the champion in the 7th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.
Gushiken's last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Pedro Flores at age 25, on October 12, 1980, in which he successfully defended his WBA light-flyweight championship.
