Casimero got his first shot at a world title at the age of 22 after 15 professional fights. On March 26, 2011 Casimero challenged Moruti Mthalane's IBF flyweight title but lost via 5th round TKO.
He then got elevated as the IBF light-flyweight champion at the age of 23 after 19 professional fights, and had his first world-title defense fight against Pedro Guevara on August 4, 2012. He defeated Guevara via 12-round split decision.
Casimero then went on to successfully conquer the flyweight (IBF) and bantamweight (WBO) divisions as well to become a three-division world champion.
