Jeff Fenech was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on May 28, 1964. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on October 12, 1984 against Bobby Williams. Fenech defeated Williams via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Fenech became a world champion at the age of 20 after 6 professional fights. He challenged Satoshi Shingaki for the IBF bantamweight title and stopped the champion in the 9th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully conquer the featherweight (WBC) and super-bantamweight (WBC) divisions as well to become a three-division world champion.
Fenech's last fight was a majority decision victory over Azumah Nelson at age 44, on June 24, 2008.
