René Santiago was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on April 10, 1992. He made his professional debut at the age of 22 years on November 22, 2014 against Gustavo Ortiz. Santiago defeated Ortiz via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
