      Vanes Martirosyan (The Nightmare) is a 38-year old retired Armenian professional boxer. He was born in Abovyan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union on May 1, 1986. He retired without winning a major world title. His professional boxing career spanned more than 13 years — from 2005 to 2018.

      Martirosyan made his professional boxing debut against Jesse Orta at the age of 18 on April 8, 2005, defeating Orta via 4 round unanimous decision. He went on to win 31 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 20 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 27 on November 9, 2013 after 34 professional fights, against Demetrius Andrade for the WBO (vacant) title. He lost to Andrade via 12 round split decision.
