      Boxing career

      Maxie Rosenbloom (Slapsy Maxie) was an American professional boxer. He was born in Leonard Bridge, Connecticut, U.S. on November 6, 1906. He was a light-heavyweight world champion. He died on March 6, 1976 at the age of 69 years. Rosenbloom was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1993. His professional boxing career spanned more than 15 years — from 1923 to 1939.

      Rosenbloom made his professional boxing debut against Nick Scanlon at the age of 16 on October 8, 1923, defeating Scanlon via 6 round PTS. He went on to win 7 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 1 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 20 on August 30, 1927 after 80 professional fights, against Jimmy Slattery for the NBA (vacant) title. He lost to Slattery via 10 round undefined.
