Boxing Career
Demetrius Andrade was born in Providence, Rhode Island, U.S. on February 26, 1988. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on October 23, 2008 against Patrick Cape. Andrade defeated Cape via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Andrade became a world champion at the age of 25 after 19 professional fights. He challenged Vanes Martirosyan for the vacant WBO super-welterweight title and defeated Martirosyan via 12-round split decision, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the middleweight (WBO) title also to become a two-division world champion.
Andrade's latest fight was a 6th-round RTD loss to David Benavidez at age 35, on November 25, 2023.
